Dear Journal,

Well, Laura and I needed some R&R, so we headed to La Crosse for the night. There might not be much to do around here, due to pandemic protocols, but we still enjoyed getting away.

We stayed at the Charmant Hotel, which is a renovated candy factory. The service was great and the room was insanely comfortable. The shower was the best part, with it’s “rainfall” shower head hanging above you.

Now we’re at a local place that Laura picked for breakfast. It’s an 80’s/John Hughes movie themed breakfast place called the Breakfast Club. She knows me so well.

I don’t know how much writing I’ll accomplish on this little trip, but the rest was desperately needed. I’ll check in a little later, maybe get some writing done.
